"If you read the Bible in the original language, you not only understand God's words much better, but you can also see the greater mystery of God."
On September 20 (Tue), Pastor Yoon Soon-hyun, who was the former CEO of "Re-Bible Israel" and is currently serving as a personal Bible translator, came to the forum and gave a lecture. In particular, it was a time to learn about Israel through 1) Comparison between Christianity and Judaism, 2) Korean Christian history, and 3) Translation of Hebrews directly into Korean, and to hear what Korea can do in the world.
In the case of Bible translation, the Hebrew Bible was translated into Hella, and as it was translated into English, Latin, and German, he compared several Scriptures to the limitations of not being able to convey the exact meaning, but there were many things that made sense when we read it in the original Hebrew Bible. Even if the content is a little different, it is not difficult to convey the overall meaning, but on the other hand, we also found that there are many phrases that we don't understand when we subtract or translate the content at all.
Currently, the pastor and several professors at Handong University are working on a project to convert the Bible translated by the pastor into a DB, and we would appreciate it if you could pray for the Bible to be written well to many people in Korea.
In addition, 40 professors and many students came to this forum, so please stay tuned and pray for the upcoming forum. Thank you :)
* On September 27 (Tue), the forum will be hosted by Ahn Sun-young, a missionary who is an alumnus of Handong University and served in Israel.
We pray that next week's forum will also be a great time of grace :)
