At this week's Sun-Sa-Mo, Professor Jungmin Lee gave a presentation under the title 'Bunker, a Partner of the National Movement'.
After 40 years of missionary work in Korea, missionary Bunker retired and returned to his hometown. After he died, his body came to Yanghwajin. Above all, he was the first to do 'prison ministry', which no one had done at the time.
He is also the missionary who spread the gospel to the leaders of our nation and laid the foundation for the independence movement and the development of Korea. He served more than 10 years as the first director and second dean of the Pai Chai School, and was involved in the founding of the YMCA in Korea. Meanwhile, he devoted himself to the ministry of Dongdaemun Church and continued to engage in various missionary activities in various fields for a long time.
There are missionaries who died within a few months of coming to Korea, and there are missionaries who have been engaged in various activities for a long time like the missionary Bunker. Although we do not know God's will for each of our callings, but by understanding the missionary work of Bunker, we hope that today will be a day for us to remember that a lot of precious fruits were borne through Missionary Bunker's ministry, and to obey each callings from God!
