"Our God is still working. Missionary work is done by God. And we just join in what he does."
On October 25, 2022, missionary 000, who is working for Middle East refugees in Germany, hosted the forum.
The missionary 000 entered Syria in 2005 and served in the ministry, then moved to Jordan due to the Syrian civil war, and is currently working in Germany.
In particular, he told us stories about refugees and God's announcement of the gospel by shaking the Middle East, which now has more than 100 million refugees worldwide, and as many as 6 million refugees are scattered in Turkey, Jordan, and Lebanon.
However, in the meantime, he was unable to properly preach the gospel in the Middle East, but he strongly told me that it was God's job to open a situation where he could freely preach the gospel to them while performing "Diaspora."
There are currently 1 million Syrian refugees in Germany alone. And it was impressive to see a missionary thanking 350 people for being able to preach the gospel while going where he could handle it, but on the other hand, it was heartbreaking that none of the people who heard the gospel welcomed Jesus as the Lord. Nevertheless, the missionary's words that he was so grateful just to be able to preach the gospel hurt me even more.
Finally, he emphasized that God does the mission, but the Middle East cannot go as a missionary at present, so he should bring in "various jobs."
"Why do you study, everyone? It's for God's sake. For the glory of God.
So I have to study hard. Through the major you have, through the teacher, God works."
We believe that the reason why we have to study is not necessarily to become overseas missionaries, but to serve and honor God in the "place given to us."
We would like to thank the missionary for his precious words in praise of God, who calls us according to their respective gifts.
We hope it will be a time to realize the mission given to us through the Missionary Forum in the future.
